Road Tripping and Reunioning

20 hours on the road and 32 hours in Plainview and it was wonderful! GT & I took off on Friday around 4 in the afternoon for a long haul to West Texas for Grandma's side of the family, the Monroe's, reunion. This reunion has taken place sine the '40's, with only a few of the orignal members in attendance in 2010. I made my maiden voyage to this reunion last year and am so happy to be a permament member this year! We had a great time just visiting, playing Bingo, eating (still trying to wake up from my diabetic coma), playing golf and laughing alot. I feel so blessed to be a part of such a long line of commited and God-fearing group of people. Here are a few pics from the reunion happenings and our road trip across Texas!

Bingo with the ORIGINAL kidney beans

Three generations of good-lookin' Taylor men

Love me some Heitz family!

Sweet Faith and Grandad

Darlin' little Landry...such a good baby!

Let the journey across Texas commence! These were EVERYWHERE in Plainview!

Beautiful fields of sunflowers

Saw lots of these and these

A road trip ain't complete without a stop at my fave Cracker Barrel, where we also rented a book on tape to pass the hours.

We drove out of our way in Paris, Tx to see the Eiffel tower replica and were a bit disappointed when it was no taller than the next door building. Oh well, we still managed to get a cliche shot!
Lots of love,
Kate
